ACI’s Energy Storage 2015: Maximising Profitability by Establishing Standards & Regulation, will take place on February 4 – 5, 2015, in Hamburg, Germany.

The conference will bring together key industry participants to address the current challenges in the energy storage market, and determine the best ways to develop the industry.

Certain areas of the energy storage industry are developing slower than anticipated, therefore the main goal of the conference will be to clarify how to support them better, overcome the difficulties they are facing, and grow. Other issues such as the lack of capacity and its cost, as well as the need for standards, will also be discussed.

Over the two days, the event will give you insights on regulation & policies for the energy storage industry, and how to define a profitable business model in order to appeal to investors. The Energy Storage 2015 Summit will allow you to learn and understand successful case studies, as well as explore the latest technology advancements.

During the afternoon of Tuesday 3rd February 2015, a limited number of conference attendees will have the opportunity to visit the WEMAG’s battery storage plant in Schwerin, Germany. The Battery Park, which was just commissioned by September 16th 2014, is Europe’s largest commercial battery power plant.

The facility is powered by 25,600 lithium-ion batteries, to help stabilise the region’s growing supply of renewable energy. With a storage capacity of 5MWh, Schwerin’s battery is reducing the lack of extensive storage capacity for wind and photovoltaic power, and offers brightening perspectives for renewable energy storage.

There is no extra charge to attend the site visit, but spaces are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please register your attendance for the site visit when booking for the conference. Transport will be provided to and from conference venue.

Key Topics Include:

  • Current Opportunities & challenges for the Energy Storage Industry
  • Establishing Regulation & Policies for the Energy Storage Market
  • Profitability & Investment
  • Understanding the US Market: What Can Europe Learn from the US Industry?
  • Implementing Standards to Engage Profitability
  • Conventional & Renewable Energy Storage System – Case Studies
