New solar photovoltaic system best practices guidelines have been released that provide guidance in the areas of installation, operations and maintenance. The goal of these guides is to help improve investor confidence in the long term viability of PV systems. They help to provide a degree of uniformity in the way solar assets are developed. The guides offer consistency in the way solar energy systems are deployed and maintained. This protects long term system production and enhances asset cash flows.
The two guides were released by The Solar Access to Public Capital (SAPC) working group, which was convened by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
The guides include recommended contractor and provider qualifications, key performance indicators, and links to external resources and other best practices
