The Green Market Oracle is once again proud to be an Outreach Partner for the tenth annual Green California Summit and Exposition that will take place on April 21 – 22, 2016 at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, California. This is a time of unprecedented opportunity and this event will highlight the strategies, technologies and best practices that are essential to the attainment of California’s green goals. The summit is developed with leadership from an advisory board composed of leaders from state and local government and the private sector.

The Summit takes place against the backdrop of a rapidly growing green economy in California. The state’s leadership in environmental stewardship and carbon reduction have helped to make it one of the world’s largest economies. California has adopted innovation funding programs along with ambitious and aggressive policies that include support for efficiency and renewable energy.

This event provides a forum where innovations in policy, technology and practice are showcased and shared. For those who are responsible for creating and managing programs for state and local government and educational institutions, it provides an annual opportunity to find out what’s new and what is working. For companies it offers a chance to build relationships with decision makers from the nation’s largest marketplace for green products and services.

The Summit includes networking opportunities, awards, an expo and expert educational opportunities.

Pre-Summit Training

A pre-Summit training will take place on April 20 that will address 2016 CALGreen and Energy Code updates and Zero Net Energy buildings. This session will include an overview of how the codes fit into the state’s emission goals and what can be expected in future evolutions as the state moves toward the goal of mandatory Zero Net Energy construction. The Pre-Summit will also include a Zero Net Energy workshop from New Buildings Institute that is open to all registrants. This session is aimed particularly at business officers, facility managers, administrators and other stakeholders who set the course for school facility projects. It will provide tools to help plan and advocate for ZNE buildings, resources for creative financing, planning, and integrating curriculum into new school buildings and retrofits.

Concurrent Sessions

On April 21 and 22, more than 30 concurrent education sessions will address a range of topics relating to green policy and practice, from codes and standards to water conservation, green schools, funding sources for energy projects plans and sustainable purchasing. These sessions will be led by expert practitioners and they will cover topics like clean transportation and Prop 39 implementation.

Exposition

The conference includes an Expo that offers attendees a chance for hands-on exposure to technologies and services that can play a critical role in the planning, design and execution of green projects. More than 100 companies will be exhibiting everything from lighting solutions and flooring to water conservation technologies. There will also be opportunities to speak with staff from government agencies that design and administer green programs. The Expo also includes a Green Auto Mall featuring zero emission vehicles. The Mall is focused on both personal and commercial vehicles, as well as charging stations and other transportation services. Several companies will be bringing fuel cell vehicles to the Auto Mall, reflecting the fact that this technology is moving rapidly toward broad implementation.

Keynote

The Keynote speaker for the opening session will be Juliet Chritian-Smith, Phd. she is a climate scientist with the Union of Concerned Scientists. She is also the Author of A Twenty-First Century U.S. Water Policy and an editor of the journal Sustainability Science.

Group discounts available. Expo, keynotes, opening reception and Leadership Awards are free. For more information go to http://www.green-technology.org or call 626-577-5700
