This web summit will take place on November 1 -4, 2021. The world’s leading startups, business giants, innovators, and influencers will come together in Lisbon this November. They’ll showcase tech’s solutions to our planet’s biggest challenges, including ocean degradation, energy systems, and sustainable design. Companies that attend include Patagonia and Ikea. Web Summit attendees will hear from the world’s best speakers in on-stage talks, panel discussions, and Q&As, as well as roundtables and masterclasses about our planet’s biggest challenges. Your ticket also gives you access to all planet:tech sessions, and more than 20 other tracks at Web Summit.

“The will to change is itself a renewable resource”
Al Gore, Chairman, Generation Investment Management

“We must ensure that this fourth industrial revolution is a force for good”
António Guterres, Secretary General, United Nations

Lighting a fire under carbon offenders

With many major oil companies facing increased pressure to reduce their carbon emissions immediately, we’ll examine how shareholder activism has changed the landscape in the fight against the major offenders, from conglomerates to energy producers.

Carbon divesting now, not later

Greenwashing, false equivalencies, equivocation and just downright lies. The cycle has to stop, and the answer is simple: carbon emissions reduced entirely by 2030 or bust. Join planet:tech to be part of the key conversations that could define our future.

Planet stewardship

Rainforest destruction. Mass extinction. Overfarming and overfishing. We’re doing a dreadful job of looking after our planet. What can we do to save the thousands of species on the brink of annihilation? We’ll examine the heroes – and villains – in the fight to save Earth.

True planet:tech

With respect to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, life on Mars is going to suck. We’re looking at the real tech, both on Earth and in space, that can help us stop the total destruction of our planet and build a better world for future generations – before we have to leave it.
